HP W1907v ... I believe it cost £150 at the time purchase, which I thought wasn t that cheap. It was a gift though so I went ahead and ripped the box open. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the design; it looked more like £250. Silver metal base.....yes you read correctly, REAL metal base. Not a cheap plastic covered lump of metal. It was in a brushed metal effect with the screen bordered in gloss black plastic. Trust me when I say it looks premium. One note I have to include on the unpacking of the product was how hard it was to straighten the base at the bottom. It was really tightly curled round for packing. He eventually told me that it would take about 5 days for him to repair it if it can be repaired. And even if he could have it fixed, he couldn t assure me that I wouldn t be having problems with it in the future. He advised me to get a new one. Acer AL1916WAs ... bought an Acer PC a while back, but still had a huge CRT monitor which was just eating power and taking up loads of space. I saw the model down from this in Argos, but after some hunting around, found this model on Amazon for the same price. Delivery time was great (before the estimated date), setup was easy enough (just plug and play, probably because I have an Acer PC), although I get the feeling I might need to tweak the settings a bit to get the most out of it. The various settings (movie, games, standard etc) are easy enough to switch between ,and there s an auto detect function that selects the most appropriate setting (although that can be a bit off).
