HP L2045w ... only bought this monitor because at the time HP were doing a £50 cashback offer, and it was £180 on Dabs, so I knew I was getting a bargain. I was originally planning on just ebaying it after the offer had expired, as it turned out that it was a one day only price, and the next day the monitor was up to nearer the £300 mark. Oh how glad I am that I didn t sell it on ebay though, it s an absolutely wonderful monitor. The colours are great, it s brilliant for watching a film on (being 20" it s ample for that), It ll go up to 1680x1050 in resolution, which makes keeping multiple windows open at once a breeze. Viewsonic VA2010wb ... i bought one of these from pc world last year - don t do it! - first they didn t have a vista driver on the web - entered vista in the search engine - no results - now 1am in the morning as mad as hell i e-write to marketing director europe - saying returning next day + a few other comments!! - no apology just e-mail from unknown pointing direction of finding a driver!! - so it s running - now the fun begins when my brand new [very expensive] sony vaio laptop wants to restart the monitor wont!! - unless i restart laptop to get laptop screen back redo display set up etc and restart shoving connector back in just at the right moment!! - sometimes it restarts first tim... Acer AL2016WB ... last monitor was a vast behemoth of a thing. At 19" it was a pretty decent Mitsubishi CRT. However, a Mitsubishi Shogun 4x4 would have actually taken up less desk space. So, I was actually glad when the thing started making humming noises and died. Much like my late grandfather but without the gladness. Packaging To my surprise, the monitor - ordered from eBay, arrived splendidly wrapped in finest parchment. The delivery ladies danced their lurid dance and then departed in a puff of sweet-smelling vapour, only to leave behind their underwear as a souvenir of the occasion.
