Bargain 17" TFT monitor for anyone but the most demanding gamer (Acer AL1711)

Advantages: Cheap, sharp bright picture, uses standard VGA monitor connector

Disadvantages: Not very adjustable

I bought myself one of these a year ago in the Comet sale, for £150 at that time you couldn't find a decent 17" TFT anywhere so I bought it on the spot.

I use it for games, video editing, surfing the web, writing letters, everything a typical home user does and its never once given me a reason to complain.

I've used alternative ones from HP, Video7 and Dell and none of them offer the same quality of picture for the same cost.

I'm sure eventually it will stop working, but by that time(2 years I'd guess) I'm sure the standard will be 28" monitors for everyone so it won't really matter!

Summary: Good value, general purpose monitor.
