So what do I mean by "tried and tested"? Well we have been using these at work for the last 18 months and have approximately 150 in the office, so I have a fair bit of experience with this model. I won t go too much into the technical specs as you can get them all from the tabbed marked Technical Details funnily enough, but a few of the major points are: Max resolution = 1280x1024. You wouldn t want anything less on a 19" screen Image Brightness = 300cd/m2. This is so so, but for your general day to day use it s fine - if you are really finicky about picture quality and brightness you probably would be looking to spend more on a monitor anyway. The Acer AL1916 series come in both black and silver (mine is silver), its a 19 inch flatscreen (TFT) monitor and it is very light and durable. It is very easy to install with standard vga socket and even easier to set up as it has a great button marked AUTO which does pretty much everything for you. This has 4 settings which are Auto (does everything), Text, Standard,Graphics & Movie. I haven t tried the other settings so I can t say much about them.
