I'd like to start of by stating that I've always been a big fan of Asus products, as you may have noticed from my GTX 660 review, but I will be as neutral as I can throughout this review. That being said, the monitor is absolutely beautiful. I have this pared with an Asus GTX 770, the step up from the other card I reviewed, and whilst I had some small problems with the first one I recieved it has, in general, been an excellent monitor for me.
Resolution. The monitor runs at full 1920 x 1080 HD, which is to be expected from a monitor in this day and age, and looks absolutely beautiful when running my video games on it at the highest possible settings. I've not noticed any serious lag between the monitor and the display output, which is always a plus for monitors. It doesn't only look great with video games, however, if you're just purchasing for general computing tasks, everything looks great as well. Any YouTube videos that are capable of 1080p streaming look fantastic on the monitor, almost like real life. The windows interface also looks great on the monitor!
Compatibility. The monitor works fantastically with Windows 7. Setup was a breeze and it was up and running in no time. I can't comment on the compatibility with Windows 8 or Mac OS as I no longer own a Mac and have never owned Windows 8, but I'd assume that it would be fine. The monitor could even be used as an external display for your laptop if you want.
Durability. This is where it falls behind a little. The first monitor I bought from Amazon was well packaged yet still had some dead pixels visible on the screen. Though, after returning and receiving a replacement everything was absolutely fine. I've not had any problems since and hopefully it'll stay that way.
Overall, this is an excellent monitor, well worth the money and bound to last long. It is from a reputable brand, so you'll be covered with a good warranty even if something did go wrong
