Cheap monitor is a no no for me (Belinea o.display 2_22" wide)

Advantages: Brightness is good, speakers are good for price, cheap, styling is nice

Disadvantages: Uneven backlighting, poor contrast, no height adjustment, poor packaging

I bought this monitor two days ago because it looked very Mac-like. I thought it was a good match for my sons Mac Mini, but what a disappointment.

The packaging is very flimsy, and the screen has no protection in transit. The base snaps on rather crudely and you have no height adjustment, just a very stiff tilt. After switching on the backlighting is very very uneven. All along one side there is dark patchy areas, which is not good. Once in use, photo images look OK, but they lack depth due to the poor contrast (quoted at 700:1 or 2000:1 dynamic, which I suppose explains it). Brightness on the other hand was very good, in fact although quoted as 320cd/m2 I would say it is nearer 360. Sound was also more than acceptable.

Well, unless I had a rogue duff screen, I cannot recommend this. Circular marks on the screen uneven backlighting and poor contrast are not acceptable. The only real positive was the brightness and the price.

Summary: I cannot recommend this display
