Advantages: Excellent picture quality, Minimal but pleasing design, adjustability
Disadvantages: Cost
I bought this monitor to replace a slightly faulty 20.1" Viewsonic TFT. I was pretty happy with my old Viewsonic but in many ways I'm glad it failed me because now I have this beauty sitting infront of me.
All the specs for this monitor are in the item description so I won't go too deep into them. First thing to say is that this monitor is BIG. 24" widescreen is I think the best size for a multipurpose computer monitor. Any larger and it would start to be a pain to position or move if needed. Also, the size means that it has a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 which is a great compromise better quality and performance. Running games at the native resolution is a joy and means your graphics card don't have to work too hard. 1080P movies also look exceptional. The detail on offer can still suprise me from time to time.
This monitor uses a high quality panel which without going into lengthly explaination means it looks great. Colour reproduction, contrast, brightness and repsonse time are excellent. I play a few different FPS' and have never experienced ghosting of any kind on this monitor. The panel used means this monitor also costs a fair bit more than your average 24" but I think it's worth it. The panel used also gives this monitor larger than normal viewing angles which means a few friends can watch it without seeing any great loss in contrast or brightness at all but the most extreme viewing angles.
The monitor comes with no speakers built in which was a plus for me. It keeps the monitor very streamlined and the bezel around the actual screen is as small as you could want. There are a few good things I want to mention before finishing. The sturdy weighted base it stands on stops it from being tipped if moved or jolted and the footprint is minimal. It also allows the user to turn, tilt, raise or lower and even rotate the monitor 90 degrees.
Summary: You get what you pay for in this case and that's a reliable high quality monitor.
