Disadvantages: Useless Manual, , Very delicate - can almost definately be easilly broken, , Expensive in relation to its competition
Initial Note Again I am writing on behalf of another. I never seem to get the really neat products (pity me!). NO but seriously, my next door neighbour has just purchased this, and as I was unarguably asked to baby-sit, I have decided to enlighten everybody on DOOYOO, to the performance of this little bit of sweet technology. My next door neighbours, even though comfortable, have had to fork out a good bit of cash for this monitor, so be warned - if you arent bothered about the size of your monitor, a normal one can perform just as well (mine at home does) So, what would be the reasons for buying this monitor? and why not? I shall continue... The Review ---------------------------------------------- -------------------------- I have decided to write this review in a very simplistic, to-the-point manner, so that my opinion can really skin in. Anyway, sorry for the babbling, lets get on... Why you SHOULD buy this monitor..... ? Firstly, its obvious, the size of the monitor. A standard 15 inch monitor, can weigh up to 8 kilograms if not more, can take up a whopping amount of space, and provide a somewhat nasty working environment. By that, I mean that firstly it collects dust, its much noisier with fans for cooling, and more importantly emits a huge amount of heat. My old monitor, under my wooden bed, started to extract the sap from the wood in my bed, because it was emitting so much heat. This little baby however does not have the same problem. Its almost silent, It provides no to very little heat, it doesnt gather as much dust, and most importantly, you can stick it anywhere, literally. If you like working on your computer whilst lying down, stick it on your ceiling, If you want to work in the airing cupboard - fine, it will fit right in there.
?Secondly, its a very good looking piece. This beige mod con will look the part in any swarve and sophisticated office space. Its very well designed, both in terms of how it looks, its durability, and not forgetting the ergonomics. It seems as if Ergonomics have played a very big part in this monitor (excluding the obvious of the size!!), but in terms of the buttons on the display panel on the front. The menu for adjusting contrast, size etc.. is very user friendly, and can be mastered by some of the most inexperienced users. I cannot help thinking that this monitor should belong with an Imac. (Sorry about that silly comment, but if you have ever seen the beautiful designs of the Imac computers, you will know what I mean) ?Finally, The quality of the picture. The monitor refreshes at an amazing speed, which allows things such as your home movies, dvds, and games to run really smoothly, and be displayed in the most vibrant of colours wiothout distortion or blurring. Saying this, the same quality can almost certianly be found in a cheaper standard monitor. The sound quality (the monitor has in-built speakers) is quite flat, and is nothing to write home about to be honest. I would advise, if you dont already own some, to buy some additional speakers for better soudn quality. Why you SHOULDNT buy this monitor..... ? Firstly, its extremely expensive. With a price tag of £280 at retail price, it costs almost the same as a second hand computer. If you dont care for the fancy looks, and the flexibility of where you can put this, dont bother, as it really will be a waste of money. ?Secondly, its only a 15 inch screen. To be honest, I prefer to work on a full old 17 inch, where you can really see everything on the screen in a clear view. Another dissapointing thing is its, resolution, which only reches a m
ax of 1024 x 768. If you like your games really sharp, may have to give this monitor a skip... ? Thirdly, its very delicate. I am writing this review using this monitor, and I am extremly nervous being this close. If this baby drops on the floor, its almost certanly going to be broken, and oops £280 down the drain. If your clumsy, or have children who use the computer, be very careful. You could be stuck back where you started, but with a bank balance £280 lower! Specification -------------------------------- I have decided I am not going to sit and copy out the specification when its available on the website. The direct link to the spec is: I ahve decided not to, its a blummin mouthful. Just click below... Final Verdict --------------------------------- I think the pros weigh out the cons on this one. Its so smart! honestly, I am thinking of stealing it. It would almost definately make a complimentary presence in any office, and would provide the quality that any standrard user would need.
