I bought this monitor three weeks ago and ill admit that the last three weeks have been absolutely amazing! A friend purchased the G2412HD two months ago and that's all he has been talking about ever since. For the longest time I wasn't sure what the commotion was about until I started researching about this monitor. It wasn't until then that I realized that the G2412HD was actually a very popular pick for the 24inch monitors. After continuous hype plus my friends enthusiastic convincing, I purchased the unit myself to see if it really lived up to the talk.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, I was absolutely pleased with the performance and design of the monitor; very slick yet rounded on the edges to give it a modern look. The monitor visits the 1080p full hd resolution as it were a piece of cake, and starts with that as its native resolution: 1920x1080. One of the biggest advantages of this monitor is its ability and sense of connectivity, as it carries D-Sub, DVI, and most importantly HDMI. This means that you may connect your external console while your computer or laptop is connected to the monitor as well: simultaneously. The great advantage about that? Well you save a lot of time by not having to unplug and re-plug different cables in every time you need to change in between your console and your personal computer.
In my opinion there is no 'perfect' screen/color setting for the monitor, as it depends on the brightness and contrast that you enjoy and the adaptability of the lighting of the room the monitor is being used in. I personally fin the brightness best at 75% and 60% contrast. The performance of the monitor is absolutely fast (2ms response time). Overall, of course I am more than satisfied regarding the design, pricing and performance of the unit. I must say that I am not the only one that will say this, but BenQ makes great and affordable monitors!
