Advantages: Attractive, simple, excellent picture quality.
Disadvantages: No height adjustment.
I was always reluctant to make the move to an LCD monitor originally. I always stuck with large screen CRTs because the brightness and picture quality couldn't be beaten by the first couple of generations of LCD monitors. I bought a Samsung 15 inch LCD a couple of years ago, and was using it quite happily up until this week when someone gave me this Dell monitor. Now I see what I've been missing.
The increased screen size also brings with it increased resolution and with it, clarity. It increases the desktop area not just by and two inches of screen size but also increases your perception of size because the toolbar becomes smaller and your work area increases.
The chassis of the screen is simple and business like which is what you would expect from Dell, although there's a glaring lack of height adjustment, it does however tilt. The bezel is black, narrow and slim giving it a smallish impact on your desk. The front panel controls, and on screen menus controlling brightness and contrast are simple to use and straight forward.
All in all, it's a fantastic monitor and if this doesn't make you want to an LCD from a CRT then nothing will.
Summary: An excellent LCD.
