my purposes and the image was good out of the box but could be improved with a few tweeks. First impressions were not good....my images seemed dull and lacking in contrast no matter how much I messed with the settings via the Dell s easy to use on screen menu. After more research, I found that by tweeking the PC s video card settings..ie gamma setting slightly.....PERFECT!! Better than the CRT. The 19" screen is just the right size if its not going also used as a TV screen. Suppose its ok for that too as long as your not to far away. that you frequently only find in professional monitors. It adjusts perfectly well and stable in its height and can be rotated by 90° to reach the connectors easily. I have tested both DVI and analogue input; switching forth and back on a dual-output VGA card and can confirm that there is not much of a difference (depending on the quality of your card, of course), a proof of the quality of the analogue input (in case you intend to use it).
