THIS WAS MY 3º TFT SCREEN, I WAS A HUGE FAN FROM SONY UNTIL I MEET THIS BEUTY.
WHEN I GOT THE BOX THE FIRST THING I NOTICE WAS THAT IT WAS WELL PACKED, THIS IS GOOD BECAUSE UNTIL THE BOX ARRIVE YOUR HOUSE OR SHOP ITS GOES BUMP AND PUMP, AND FOR A SENSITIVE MATERIAL LIKE TFTS SCREENS THAT IMPORTANT.
I MOUNTED THE SCREEN, EASY YOU DONT NEED THE MANUAL ( BUT THERE IS :), AND THEY INCLUID EVEN Cable(s) 1 x 15-pin D-Sub and 1 x 24-pin DVI-D cable. AFTER THAT YOU HAVE A HUGE I REALY MEAN HUGE SECTION OF PORTS ON THE BACK OF THE SCREEN, (sorry writing again with big letter), 1 x 15-pin D-sub, 1 x 24-pin Digital DVI-D, 1 x S-Video, 1 x Composite Video, 5 x USB (1 Upstream and 4 Downstream), this is very useful i have conected my segurity camera on the video port, main computer on the dvi and a second render monitor on the dsub, a web camera/a digital photo camera and a skipe phone on the usbs.
I didnt had any problem with the plug and play system, maybe because i have a good gfx board, they recomend that so before you by you need at least a 9600xt ati board (its the minim i have try).
Play Games- well with a good gfx board you have a perfect monitor for games also, no drag, no swadows the response its perfect, im used to play games like medal of hounor and halflive, and its perfect high rate. Belive me i had a lg with 19 response and was a nightmare to play, it was like you have 20 beers and missed a couple of nights......all blurrrr
working- well im a video maker and i need a big screen to edit, that the main thing that made me go and buy this beuty, the quality of image is very good, somethimes a bit too bright but you get used, the important is that the coulors are ocurrate, and not fake like some tfts. The only problem i had with this monitor was with photoshop, the driver profile that comes with the screen cd is not compatible, you can fix this by ignoring but dell should fix this.
The screen also cames with some extra funcions like portrait mode, landscape mode, pip funcion ( you can have 2 video signals on the same screen), and the normal funcions like Input Select, OSD Menu and Select, Minus (-) and Plus (+), Brightness / Contrast, Auto Adjust, Power Button and Indicator .
One thing that i was afraid was that some programas or games had problems with the wide screen, well you dont have to worry because until now i never found any! .
Its now almost 2/3 years that i have this machine and im very happy, thats why i recommend!
