I bought one of these 20" monitors when i bought my last Dell desktop PC a year or so ago. I've had Dell computers for a few years now and have been impressed with the quality of their products for the price, of course there is better out there if you have more money to spend but for the price i've always found Dell to be a good choice.
This is no exception, this 20" monitor is excellent. Screen resolution and picture quality is very good. The main reason i bought a screen this size was to get a widescreen monitor to watch movies/video online. For movies this monitor is pretty decent the picture is sharp, even on fast moving scenes. The monitor doesnt have the viewing angle of a LCD TV so on balance, if you're primarily interested in watching movies and this is your main monitor i would recommend picking up something like an LCD/LED TV with a PC input or HDMI connection for a better picture quality and wider viewing angle. But as a PC monitor goes this is excellent - more than good enough for everything i've used it for web browsing/office applications etc.
This monitor has a number of settings which you can mess around with, i've not really experimented that much, i keep it on its auto settings. Another advantage of this monitor is the adjustable stand which is handy.
Overall, an excellent PC monitor for the price.
I've got one of these on my desktop PC at home and have to say I find it absolutely superb. Great, sharp picture quality combined with its size means that I don't need my glasses. A good looking monitor that's never let me down. I'm a big fan of Dell products in general for their superb build quality and their great customer service - I've always found the call centre to be particularly helpful when ordering Dell peripherals, hardware or consumables, and they really reward business customer loyalty. This monitor was easy to set up and didn't require the driver disks to get it working. Another advantage is the stand is fully height adujustable, and swivels around easily without fuss. I particularly like its eye catching design, and this, together with its outstanding screen resolution and the quality I've come to expect from Dell products, make it a sound bet.
Their are a couple reasons why i got such i big monitor. Number one, to play games at very high resolutions and to enjoy wonders of the highest quality hd videos. I use it to dual screen as i am studying engineering so i can have written work on my normal screen and be so computer aided design on the Dell. This set up i use as an extended desktop and the dells compatibility allows me to have one resolution on one screen and different resolution on another screen. I have no fault with this screen. The quality cannot be knocked. Also the screen has a few pre-sets for gaming or browsing photos or watching movies, etc. One of the few problems is that because it is a bigger screen it takes up a lot more room and more surface area to clean. Seems to attract dust but this is me just trying to find something wrong because of course a big monitor is going to take up more room, no such thing as a 20" monitor that only takes up 17"!!!!!!!! The screen goes up to a high enough resolution for me and if your serious about your gaming then you may want i slightly higher resolution but if you are serious and moneys an issue, then this one is brilliant. has a fairly good response time, barely noticeable to be honest but people just try and look for things to put it down by looking at its spec. Everything else on this monitor is very good, i would definitely advice this monitor if your considering one like it.
