Eizo Flexscan L 550 ... OSD presents a user-friendly interface, and a new light sensor takes a reading of the ambient light conditions and automatically adjusts the panel's brightness.

The FlexScan L550 is the first monitor with this new EIZO feature - Light Sensor. It automatically reads the amount of ambient light in the user environment and adjusts the screen brightness to compensate. The slimmed down cabinet design features an unconventional easel back stand for adjusting the ideal position and angle of view. The cabinet attaches to a mounting arm as is, eliminating the trouble of separating the panel from the stand required with conventional LCD monitors. Available in the OSD menu, sRGB Mode allows color matching with other peripherals that support the sRGB color space.

shouldn't need to use it as the default settings are fine. The viewing angles are great - 170 degrees I believe as quoted by Eizo. Included in the box is just the monitor, a power cable and an analogue cable. You will need to buy a separate DVI cable if you want digital input instead of analogue, but I find that even with analogue input, the monitor images are very fine. Like most other monitors, this monitor has a quoted dead pixel acceptance of 7 pixels, but mine did not have any dead pixels on it. One thing to watch out with is cleaning it. After a while, you can see dust particles accumulating on the screen, but as touching the screen damages it or ...
