Advantages: Crisp images, No ghosting
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to clean
Crisp images, no visible ghosting and great colors are the first things that spring to mind about this monitor. I have been using this 17" TFT monitor for over a year now, and I am quite pleased with its performance. I have watched DVDs, and played fast paced games on it and not noticed any ghosting. The response time of 25ms is more than adequate for this. There is an onscreen OSD which lets you control brightness, contrast etc, but you shouldn't need to use it as the default settings are fine. The viewing angles are great - 170 degrees I believe as quoted by Eizo. Included in the box is just the monitor, a power cable and an analogue cable. You will need to buy a separate DVI cable if you want digital input instead of analogue, but I find that even with analogue input, the monitor images are very fine. Like most other monitors, this monitor has a quoted dead pixel acceptance of 7 pixels, but mine did not have any dead pixels on it. One thing to watch out with is cleaning it. After a while, you can see dust particles accumulating on the screen, but as touching the screen damages it or leaves fingermarks, you have to wipe it very carefully with a soft tissue. Another problem is that you have to make sure people don't touch the screen in order to stop it from damaging. But on the whole, it is generally robust. All in all, this is a good monitor, and is great for the price and should serve you well. It was rated in PC Pro's A-List for several months, and not without good reason!

- 12/04/04 Good op, but if you add a bit more I could rate higher. I didn't notice anything about price which is pretty important to buyers so you may want to add something about that! If you add anything let me know and I'll rerate! Sharon |
