Eizo Flexscan Placeo ... monitor incorporates all the performance quality, which has made EIZO's reputation, as well as several distinguished features of its own. Every detail of the FlexScan Placeo's construction is carefully planned to balance superb looks with practical advantage. Its flawless anodized surface is complemented by such special treatments as shot-blasting along the bezel area, hairline processing over the lower bezel bar, and diamond-cutting to achieve the relief effect of the EIZO logo emblem. The circuit boards are mounted directly onto the die-cast rear panel, and in another technological first from EIZO, are assembled using lead-free solder. The rear panel combines the natural heat dispersion characteristic of aluminum with ample rigidity, making conventional ventilation slots unnecessary and dispensing with the metal plate normally incorporated in an LCD monitor. As a result, the total panel depth is 6 mm less than that of EIZO's other 17" LCD, the FlexScan L565.

The individuality of the FlexScan Placeo is equally evident as soon as you switch it on. The opening screen shows a customized display with the Placeo logo and its limited edition series identification number, and the OSD features a dedicated ScreenManager color system designed exclusively for this product. The Super-IPS (In Plane Switching) panel delivers exceptional standards of image clarity and sharpness, with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024, 400: 1 contrast ratio and 230 cd/m2 brightness level. The panel also features super-wide viewing angles of 170-degree horizontal and vertical. The ColorManagement function lets you customize the image via independent adjustments of hue, gain, saturation and color temperature. The fast response time of 40 ms ensures excellent image stability when viewing DVDs and streaming video.
