Advantages: Easy to use, lasts a lifetime, clear light screen
Disadvantages: refresh rate and not HD ,
I've used my HP 1702 for about 7 years now and its still working the same as the day I got it.
I use it literally every day for around 8 hours a day for the last 7 years and I've never had a problem to date.
The screen is light , easily tilted into position and does the job certainly in a working environment.
it's a 17-inch Active Matrix TFT (thin film transistor) monitor with a 17 in (43.2 cm) viewable area diagonally that is.
The response rate is 25 ms, which isnt that good if your after a GAMER monitor. but if all you need is somethign to do work on and surf the internet than its fine for that use.
Its plug an play with easy to use front panel buttons to adjust the screen to your liking and settings. I personally keep to 1024 x 768 resolution but this screens native resolution is 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz (recommended) for optimum viewing.
There are far better monitors out there but if you can get one of these cheap then it is a workhorse of a screen and good bang for your buck
Summary: a decent office workhorse 17ince monitor
