I bought this product as an extra screen for my laptop (bought from PC world: in store, terrible service, probberly lack of staff). It works very well with my laptop, and when my mate borrowed it, it projected the image so clearly and with the array of brightness and contrast settings it can suit all tastes. There is an auto function aswell which lets the screen adjust itself to best fit the programme which is running. I got this monitor about a year ago after my previous monitor broke. The w19ev is a 19 inch widescreen monitor made by HP. At the time of buying the monitor, it was fairly cheap. I am not sure if it is still manufactured today, but for the sake of HP - I hope it isn t. The speakers are pretty much pointless as they don t work properly. To make them work, you need to have your headphones plugged in halfway to the headphone port. I don t see why they didn t just leave the speakers out! I m possitive the old 4:3 LG tft it replaced produced much better blacks and colours. With a little tweaking you can add colour with nvidias digital vibrance too built in the drivers. Backlight can also be a issue on dark scenes you can easily see it emiting and ruining the blacks. Having said its not brilliant it was the cheapest widescreen tft on the market at the time of purchase from pc world at £150. It has dual input so ive got the pc on dvi and use my xbox 360 on the vga port. Gaming wise the monitor has no ghosting or other problems. The dual mode leads me to my next problem the buttons.
