Advantages: Well Designed, robust, great picture quality
Disadvantages: Nothing as of yet...
I have owned the L1908w now for about 10 months after purchasing from dabs.com for £120. I was in need of an upgrade from my 17"TFT monitor and this fell perfectly into my scope on both budget and size.
The design is elegant and practical, with a simple slim frame and arched stanchion, leading down to the base which incorporates a handy dish that you can't help but fill with your office essentials. The angle of the monitor can also be adjusted to suit your needs, with a reassuringly stiff movement.
Looking around the back of the monitor there is a handy built in lifting handle, and the standard connections; VGA and computer style power lead. One small design niggle (and this goes out to nearly all monitor designers) is that the VGA plug is too near to the edge of the monitor, meaning its frustrating to screw in the connector as your fingers don't fit in the gap to the side wall.
As for performance the L1908w is crisp, clear and as bright... I have mine positioned facing a rather large window, and I have never had problems with glare obscuring me from my work.
There is an in depth yet clear menu that allows more experienced people than me to tinker with the settings. I personally found the factory setup more than acceptable, plus the monitor includes a feature to auto adjust to the best resolution, so the install was simply plug in and off I went.
The monitor has been used 8 hours a day, and as yet no problems, I will update this review should any occur...
Summary: Great for both buisness and home use
