It is a good monitor for gamers., but do not buy it if you work with text, because it behaves bad with details!
Last month, my old PC monitor which I've been using for 5 years now finally give-in and broke-out (a very old 19 inches bulky monitor). I have sent it to the repair shop to no avail. I was then advice by the repair man to replace it, which I did. I only set two very important criteria for me to choose from many available LCD units in the market :
a) As a PC gamer fanatic, the first criteria I have chosen is the sharpness in color. You should be able to see every detail of graphics like seeing an ant 10 meters away (lol).
b) Fits to my budget (around $300 to $400).
After asking several computer retail shops, I finally decided to buy this HP L2445w. During my so called "trial" period (I get a trial period of three days from the retail shop owner), I haven't encountered major trouble with it. I tried to edit some photos of mine using the Photoshop and it looks great and see more detail and color in my photo which I hadn't seen on other monitor displays. I also tried to watch a Blue-ray disk and it didn't disappoint me at all. And, lastly, I plug it to my PS2 and played for almost 8 hours straight without any problems at all. So, I decided keep it for my own comfort and satisfaction.
This monitor may not be as elegant compared to an Apple 24" but it costs several hundreds of dollars cheaper, gives almost the same output you expected for a good LCD monitor and won't give you any troubles and headaches. I know it's not the best of its kind but it supersedes my very shortlisted criteria.LOL...
