HP Pavilion F1703

This Monitor was great when i first bought it, it was fast, and high quality. The problems occured about a year after i bought it and, blackouts started happening. The thing was ok for a week or so after turning it on and off but after a couple of weeks it started happening every few minutes until it got to the point when it would never stay on for more than 2-3 seconds. I was told that this was a common problem and it was that the backlight that was gone. Ok so it took me about 2 years of deliberation to take the plunge and replace my ageing 17" CRT monitor (the one I bought with my first ever proper PC after an Amstrad PC1640 - remember those?). My 17" monitor was still going strong although 'strong' was what you had to be to move the thing.
