HP are one of the best computer manufacturers around and they never fail to impress. This is a really nice monitor. Before this monitor i had another HP CRT monitor then i bought a new desk etc so decided to get a new screen. I looked around on the internet but i wanted to actually see them so i went to PC World to have a look. I was looking for around 17" like my last screen was. I saw a few but nothing really special. Each one all had something like to expensive, confusing menu, didn't look etc. As i was looking around i saw the HP vs17 which is this screen but 17" instead of 19". This was around £130 and i was thinking to buy it but thought i better just have another look around then i came across the 19" version and i was so surprised that it cost only £20 more at £150. So i bought it and glad i did. When i got home and took it out of the box it had a simple easy to understand instruction leaflet. I connected the power cable and the computer cable. As soon as i turned the computer on the screen came on and adjusted to the computer settings. I thought this was great as alot of older screens you have to do yourself. The menu is easy to use. On the side are 5 buttons. A power button on the bottom, then about that a auto/select button, then volume and select up and down with 2 buttons, then a menu button. When you press menu a dialogue box comes up with different options: Brightness, contrast etc. Oh and this screen also has built in speakers which actually product good quality sound. The screen can auto adjust by pressing the auto/select button, so if it has been moved of centre just press this button and it all goes back. About the built in speakers, the screen also came with a sound cable that plugs into the screen and the headphone socket in the computer. The volume can be easily changed with the up and down buttons on the screen. Its such as easy screen to use, everything is labled and the buttons are on the side to make the screen look modern and simple. Also just underneath the screen is a headphone socket. This is so if you use the screen speakers as your main speakers but then you want to have headphones you can just plug them into the screen. This is a good quality, clear good resolution screen and i recommend it to anyone and everyone.
