I have only had this monitor for 3 years and already it is dead. I worked for many years in IT and would not recommend any of HP's products, as I have personally also just thrown away an all in one printer which only lasted just under 3 years as well and I used it seldom (print head missing error). The printer was an officejet 6500 which drank ink in large quantities and had hugely expensive consumables. No more HP products for me again ever! They don't last - they may be competitively priced but they're not worth the hassle and frustration.
I got this monitor about a year ago after my previous monitor broke. The w19ev is a 19 inch widescreen monitor made by HP. At the time of buying the monitor, it was fairly cheap. I am not sure if it is still manufactured today, but for the sake of HP - I hope it isn't.
The speakers are pretty much pointless as they don't work properly. To make them work, you need to have your headphones plugged in halfway to the headphone port. I don't see why they didn't just leave the speakers out!
If you move the monitor slightly, then the power plug at the back of the monitor decides to make a horrible sparky type noise then the screen goes black. To solve this you have to push the power plug back in. It happens every week or so, and it is really annoying.
Design wise, it is not very attractive and gets dirty quickly.
It's not the best monitor in the world, far from it - but it works. And that is just about the only perk that this monitor has to offer. I wouldn't buy this monitor again.
