I usually stick to purchasing higher end monitors as I do a lot of photo editing and film editing on my Mac. I also use the web at lot. I don't use this monitor for game playing - although my husband does and he can highly recommend it. So looking around for good monitors is a major thing for me, and I rely solely on reviews.
I purchased this from Amazon for £129.99 and received it within 3 days of ordering it.
A full 1080p HD monitor is a must have for me and this was a great price for a 22 inch monitor. It's slim and sleek looking and is a combi of LED and IPS display technologies. It connects to my Mac via an HDMI cable. And you can also connect it via a VGA or DVI interface. It's screen format is 16:9 which is standard today. It's lit by a backlight. I was worried at first because I heard alsorts of stories from consumners saying that backlit sources were uneven and sometimes gave off a cloud effect. Thankfully I have not witnessed this on my monitor. Response time is 5ms and comes complete with a stand. If you wish to pop it onto a wall then it is compliant with the VESA mounts and it's fully tiltable upto 15 degrees. I was also surprised to see that it has a built-in headphone socket, not that I'd use this.
The colours and very accurate and match whatever I get printed at my photo print center. Resolution - very similar to that of of iMac's screen res, and that takes a lot of beating. Clarity and contrast are excellent, and of course you can make adjustments in the settings menu - very easy.
This is a very important factor for me and should be for every one else in light of austerity measures. It only draws off 35 watts of electric which isn't at all bad.
WOULD I BUY AGAIN:
Yes! Well I infact did, my husband was so impressed that he bought one for himself a week after I purchased mine.
About 6 months ago I decided it was time to update my ancient desktop computer. It had served me well for over 10 years but was really beginning to show its age! With the help of a computer savvy friend I decided to purchase a Dell model and then started to hunt around for a decent monitor. I knew I wanted something with a wide screen that would enable me browse the internet and view my photos in full HD. I could have opted for a Dell monitor but wasn't really impressed with the range on offer. My friend found just what I was looking for on Amazon at a decent cost. The model in question is the LG Flatron 23 inch monitor.
What you get for your money.
I am not going to fill this review with a lot of technical information as you can always get that by going to the Amazon site and checking it out for yourself! However I will just give what I think are the important points. This monitor uses backlighting and is full HD, so has a clearer, brighter picture quality. It has a wide screen that can be tilted and swivelled, so pictures can be viewed at any angle.
The surround is matt black, which I happen to prefer to shinny black. It has a neat stand and although I have read a few reviews that say the monitor wobbles on its stand, this has not been my experience. The monitor weight 3.7 Kg and sits happily on my desk top. The height of the monitor can be easily adjusted and it can also be wall mounted.
I am really happy with this monitor! I find the screen bright and colours vibrant and true to life. I am a keen photographer and viewing my pictures on the screen is a pleasure! Sometimes backlighting can cause colours to bleed, but I have had no problem with this.
The monitor was really easy to set up and came with clear instructions.
The only negative point I can think of, is that the on/off button is a bit fiddly to activate.
I paid £156.00 for this monitor from Amazon with free delivery. I really can't recommend this monitor highly enough!
