I have owned this monitor for almost 2 years now and it is the usual LG quality. The screen is very clear and bright and adjusts well, and the aspect ratio is perfect. I was recently in Barcelona boarding a cruise, where I saw over 100 of these monitors at the check in screens above the desk and I asked why they chose this monitor. They said that out of all the ones they used, that these were the most reliable and offered best value for money. It's a no brainer really!
At 22 Inches, the screen is perfect for most people. I use mine every day in my web design business, and I find that it is perfectly set up to display my pages properly which is what I want. For movies and games it has performed admirably, and I find that the contrast ratio and refresh rate are fine and after having recently completed Mafia 2, I was amazed at the picture quality. Movies are a similar experience. I don't watch too many on my P.C. but the picture quality is good, and I don't experience much jitter in high action sequences.
As for the official figures, the resolution, etc I find now after owning most brands of monitors, tv's that LG usually have the best picture quality. This is after owning several monitors over a 12 year period.
Overall, I am happy with this monitor and can see myself owning it for as long as it is functional which knowing LG, will be a long time!
I got this monitor free with a gaming pc which I was going to use to play flight simulators. After over a year of hard service in a teenage boys bedroom, it is still going strong. There is still the same high quality picture as it had when I bought it. In fact, I was so happy with this monitor that about 9 months ago, I bought yet another of these to create a larger windows desktop. It was so easy to set up even to those who know nothing about monitors. Just plug it in and press the auto/set button and it sets itself up. It may not be the best looking monitor but for the price, there is nothing like it. I have had Flight Sim X at full graphics on these screens and the quality was absolutely brilliant for it's price (which when I bought them was £119-£110). I am glad I never forked out over £200 for a Sharp monitor because this was everything I need and more. The base is sturdy and can take the weight of a speaker from my surround sound system. One thing I don't like is how easily it swivels as it can take a while to line the monitors back up if hit. I would recommend this monitor to anyone and am thinking of buying yet another (the joys of dual GPUs!). Well done LG!
