Advantages: Great picture quality, nice input selection, range of sources, freeview
Disadvantages: Basic stand, reliability?
The LG M2094D-PZ is a decent computer monitor/HDTV that performs well, but just seems to have some reliability issues.
The monitor is reasonably aesthetically pleasing, with curved corners and back, and a glossy black finish. At 20" it is a decent viewing space, not too small but also not too large putting on a computer desk. Two problems with the design are that I believe it cannot be wall mounted which is a shame (but doesn't affect me), and the stand is fairly sturdy but cannot be adjusted much. It would have been good if it could be adjusted so the screen is higher, as it is maybe a little too low for my desk.
The picture quality is excellent, with a 20,000: 1 contrast ratio and 1680x1050 maximum resolution. I definitely recommend running your computer through DVI as opposed to the old analogue VGA; it makes a lot of difference surprisingly and oddly has given me less eye fatigue since I switched.
This screen is not just a PC monitor however. It is great for games consoles, bluray players etc, and supports HDMI and Component input, as well as scart. My Xbox 360 and PS3 look great on it. There is also a built in freeview tuner, which is the icing on the cake!
The different modes are easily switched using the 'input' button, which brings up a list of input methods at the bottom of the screen, with ones not connected greyed out. This is better thought out than some TV's, which you just have to keep tapping the source button until you get to the right one, and have to remember which order they are in. The only issue I would say is that switching between inputs is just slightly too slow for my liking.
The main issue I have had with this television is that occassionally it crashes and needs to be unplugged and re-plugged in. I am going to send it back soon, and hopefully the replacement will be better; mine is probably just a one off.
Overall, this is a great screen for a multitude of uses, performing fantastically and looking the business. If you don't need all of the extra functions just get a normal PC monitor, but in my opinion it is very useful to have all of the input options available, and built in freeview.
Summary: Very nice HDTV monitor, I just hope the rest are most reliable than mine.
