A few years ago my friend kindly gave me her PC when she updated to a new one. I was absolutely over the moon as it was a much better model than the one we had at the time. I decided to take the opportunity to treat myself to a new flatscreen monitor. After a bit of shopping around I decided on this LG W1934S monitor which seemed to check all the boxes and if I remember correctly it was on offer at the time. I must admit I tend to use my new laptop a little more than my PC, but there are still times when I need to use "the big computer". Connecting the monitor to the PC was incredibly easy and only took around five minutes, this really is a plug and play product. Obviously it needs to be plugged into the mains and then connected to a PC via the AV socket. There are no other sockets on the monitor. The LG monitor itself looks quite smart on my computer desk, with its matte black surround. It is rather thin and has a nice sturdy circular base which keeps the monitor steady. The screen size is a rather small 19", I have found this to be fine for my needs, I sit at the desk right in front of it and have no problems reading even small text. This is not a HD really monitor, but I have found the picture quality to be clear. Personally, I wouldn't watch films or TV on the monitor as I feel my new laptop gives a much better crisp picture. My boyfriend has a Spotify account and likes to stream music online so he purchased some speakers which he connected up to the actual PC. There are a few buttons on the front panel. There is off course a power button which turns the monitor on and off along with a volume and brightness button. The monitor also has a power save mode and will switch itself off if it has remained inactive for a certain period of time. I have found this to be a rather basic monitor both in design and features, but it certainly works well for our needs so its the full 5 stars from me. A quick look online shows me that this product is no longer available in electrical shops but it can still be picked up on eBay and from private sellers on Amazon, prices vary.
