Advantages: Cheap, good qualtiy, goog automatic brightness
Disadvantages: Instable foot, bit difficult to adjust tilt
I now have this product for a while, around a month. In this time I already had a screen replaced because it's color was set to blue. I mailed this to the support of LG, got the question to call. I called on monday morning, monday afternoon they called me to make an appointment to replace the screen. tuesday I had the new screen. That's service!
But now to the screen itself. The picture quality is excelent. I connected it with a DVI connector, so everything is digital from my videocard to my display. My PowerMac G5, my laptop and my normal PC all have an excelent picture. The foot is a little bit instable, but normaly you wouldn't notice this since you set it up, and then just watch it. It takes a little bit of time to aling the two screens to the exact same tilt, but once done, you won't regret it.
I primarily use this setup to do some programming and website developing. But I also use them to game. I primarly play Mirror's Edge on it and everything is super smooth, the reaction time is great. At first I disabled the dynamic brightness (Set the F-Engine to user, set the brightness as you want and both other options to 0. Then save it) but this looks really bad in game. The normal setting is quite good for this in my opinion. I rarely change this because then I have to change it on two screens.
The resolution of 1680x1050 is large enough to do some serious work, especially if you have two of these screens. Nonetheless, I am already looking to get a third screen since I have to screens completely filled when doing some webdeveloping (one screen with the editor, the other one splitscreen between documentation and the result so far). When programming I also have both screens filled, one with the editor, the other one with documentation.
Since the screen that was to blue was so easily switched to a good screen, no questions asked, I feel this is a great screen. Especially for those that are on a budget. I got mine for Euro130,- each. This is about 115 pound. Unfortunatly, this screen seems to have risen quite a bit in price since I bought it. But still, it is one of the cheapest 20" screens you can get. And I certainly has a good quality.
Summary: Great screen for those who are on a budget, but still want a quality screen
