I would buy it again if I had to

I bought this monitor because I found a bargain on ebay. I read reviews after I had purchased it and thankfully they were pretty praising of this monitor and I can really see why.

Its a big 22" Monitor, I use it for Gaming, 3d Max work and Photo editing and its brilliant. On my laptop (15.6in screen) 3d Max is all squashed up and awkward to get round but this monitor just makes this twice as easy to do and also good for multiple windows as well and they don't have to go too small.

Maximum resolution is 1680 x 1050 so not full 1080p or anything like that but don't let that put you off, its a very clear and crisp display, we watch DVDs and Blu-ray Discs without a problem.

It has two ports on the back, One DVI and the other is your standard VGA port, No HDMI cables for this one then. The monitor is supposed to have a Zooming feature of some sort which I cannot get too work and this may be because I bought it used so Ill have to investigate but I've heard its not all that of a special feature anyhow. The monitor has 4 different 'engines' you can work with for setup.

It has a 'Movie' mode, obviously named because its appropriate for DVDs and the like, this has a faster refresh rate but is not much good for general computer use, too much brightness and contrast, so only worth turning on for Movies etc

It has a 'text' mode which I assume is for defining black and whites and makes it easier on the eyes when creating large documents. Well as I've got my 10,000 word dissertation coming up, this feature could come in handy.

It has a 'User' mode which is just a custom mode set up by you - the user.

and finally has a 'Normal' mode, well not sure what normal is but it does the job for me and seems to put the brightness and contrast in the right area.

I've noticed the picture is a bit sharper going from a VGA cable to a DVI cable and I will be sticking with the DVI, basically a VGA cable only transmits an analog signal and DVI is digital. The picture seems to be crisp and clearer.

You can buy the monitor in either an all black finish or what mine has is a black base with a silver screen surround. I personally would prefer the black one because in my opinion the silver looks a little on the cheap side and like painted plastic a little bit, but as I say, I got a real bargain on ebay with this monitor so couldn't resist.

I've borrowed a few of these specs from play.com to give you an idea of what its like:

      # Response Time: 5ms
      # Brightness: 300 cd/m2
      # Contrast: 8000:1 (dynamic)
      # Display Positions Adjustments: Pivot (rotation), swivel, tilt
      # Colour support: 24-bit (16.7 million colours)
      # Image Aspect Ratio: 16:10

Well i hope this review helps you in making your mind up if you are planning to buy one, I am certainly happy with mine the only thing being is I cannot work out how the zooming feature works or even if it does work and the cheap looking finish on the silver models which if you're not bothered about looks is even better.
