When looking for a new monitor to go with my new computer I was searching for a monitor that could show me full 1080p HD. That being said there are many monitors out there that can do such a task. I searched through many pages of monitors and read many reviews until I stumbled across the Phillips brilliance C-line. On paper this was everything I was looking for so I purchased this monitor for £195. When first unboxing the monitor it was wrapped in bubble wrap and held securely in place by polystyrene surrounding the box, also in the box was the cables stored away in their own box underneath the monitor itself. Out of the box the monitor is simply stunning it's thin, lightweight and has a nice gloss finish to give it the extra shine. It has a small stand which is approximately a third of the actual monitor size that being 21.5 inches. At first I thought it looked really awkward on the stand but I have grown used to it and think that it would actually look quite daft should the stand itself be any bigger, the stand allows you to tilt the monitor should you be sitting lower than at your desk. One of my favourite things about the monitor is the smart touch controls on the stand; they are touch sensitive icons which look great and certainly much better than buttons, when you touch them the icons themselves glow to recognize that you have touched it. With these controls you operate the display options such as power and contrast of your screen. A great feature of the monitor is one you cant even see, the white LED technology basically means that they brighten up faster than normal LED's meaning there is far less start up time in the screen and gives you better control over the contrast of the back-light. Setting up this monitor was really easy, using a HD cable from my computer to the monitor and then using NVidia's own software to set the resolution that I wanted to use. At full 1080p the quality of the screen is mind blowing playing games which I have played years I noticed a real difference and from the word go I was mesmerized. One thing i really noticed when using this monitor was that even after many hours constant use my eyes didn't seemed strained or start to hurt. Given the quality and the look of this monitor I have since purchased another one for my bedroom TV and games consoles. This is an outstanding piece of equipment and I simply cannot fault it. For anyone out there looking for a HD monitor that isn't going to take up loads of space and is real simple to set up and use then look no further because you don't need anything other than this!
With an ultra slim design and technology that delivers sharp vivid colors, the Philips Blade LED display is a new level of cool sophistication.
An aspect ratio is an expression of a video image's width compared to its height. The 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio is standard for universal to high-definition television and European digital television. A native 16:9 aspect ratio means outstanding game and video display without bars at top and bottom of the picture and without the quality loss than comes from scaling, altering an image to fit on a different screen size.
