Advantages: Good quality, fault free, reasonable price, excellent picture, nice stable and sharp.
Disadvantages: Swivel is good, but tilt is quite stiff.
When it comes to TFT Samsung give you top notch gear at a great price.
I've had this monitor for two years now and haven't looked to replace it.
The display quality is excellent, and the variety of settings and simple configuration mean you'll always have it looking the way you want it to.
The build quality is superb for the money, and it certainly looks the part.
Both digital and VGA inputs can be used simultaneously, and switched from the monitor's menu screen. (Handy if you have two devices, say a laptop and a desktop.)
The 3000:1 contrast ratio is a bit of a cheat. It simply computes the brightness and contrast dynamically to give an "effective" contrast ratio of 3000:1, still the effect is good. However, it's only really effective in this mode when used correctly (make sure you use the manual.)
Colour, brightness, bleeding... all well and truly under control to give you stunning picture quality. This is as good as you'll get until the OLED displays eventually take over.
Finally Samsung's NO dead pixel policy means you get the fault free monitor you deserve! Without the risk! (NB: You should check this in case it changes, thought I doubt it will.)
So what are you waiting for?
Summary: A superb monitor. Enough said.
