Advantages: Large screen, good price, fast response time, great picture and design

Disadvantages: No HDMI

A 22 inch monitor is usually considered pretty large and it definitely feels different after using a 15" one. Gone are the days of resizing your windows to fit on the screen, you can simply have both of them opened at the same time. I didn't want to dual screen because it takes up too much room and I'd rather have one large quality monitor. I usually always choose Samsung for monitors/TVs with the odd exception but you can guarantee a solid and quality product with Samsung.

It has a 2ms response time which means no ghosting which can otherwise be a problem. One thing I did notice which was easily fixed, was that when watching a movie there was clouding (backlight is visible) in dark scenes or when the screen is black. To fix this, you simply have to lower the backlight setting. Stores tend to crank all settings up to make screens look bright and vivid but this usually has a negative effect on the picture.

You can connect your devices via DVI or VGA. Unfortunately it does not have HDMI but I have an Xbox 360 VGA cable so use this for Halo 3 now as well. It's a very good monitor and definitely worth the price as it is more than just a PC monitor.

It has a very slim design and a nice blue LED power button. The screen angle can be changed and the stand is pretty stable but you can't change the vertical height. I don't see why you really would need to though.

I thought that my 17" Philips screen was ok until I threw up some photos on our new 40" HD Sony TV, now I want to update the monitor for photography - this is one of the monitors that I've been looking at so a very useful review indeed. Richard.
