Advantages: Fast processing time, large viewing area.
Disadvantages: Buttons starting to fall off.
I upgraded to this after having a 17" CRT monitor. What a difference!
First impressions upon recieving this was that it had a fairly solid build, i had to attach the base to the monitor after taking it out of the box. There is a little bit of cable routing which i thought was a nice touch. The base is also nice and stable, something thats nice when you just spent £200 on a monitor (probably less by now).
The monitor is really clear and crisp when reading either text documents or the internet and also provides pretty good performance in games. It can sometimes be a little bit jaggedy on the edges but nothing that has ever stopped me from reading/viewing something. There is a reasonable amount of adjustment with the settings but i must confess i wish there was a little more. Sometimes whilst playing games (CSS, de_train in particular) i wish i could add more contrast. Conversely on very bright games the screen can become very bright and everything starts to become to white.
Saying that though the monitor has a good response time (5ms) so you wont get the dreaded flatscreen lag from the early days of flatscreens.
Ive had the monitor quite a while now, 2 years atleast i think and ive found its still going strong, the colours are still bright and the connectors have not worn and started to buzz like cheaper monitors.
The one problem ive had is the little adjustment buttons have started to fall off, to counter this i just got some cellotape and stuck it over them. In all honesty you cant see the tape and it does the job.
Summary: Good value and good performance monitor.
