I had bought an Xbox 360 to play Ghostbusters.
But I did not have a LCD TV, or a HD TV. And I was really stuck. My PC monitor was almost 10 years old, and the CRT tube was going. All the colours were dark.
The game came out and I went to get it, and I realised that playing it on my Sony CRT TV was not going to give me the full effect of the quality of the game.
So I went out to find a LCD TV or PC Monitor, there was nothing in my price range (£120). I went everywhere.
I was about to give up, when I went to a quiet Currys where I found the Samsung P2050 on a bottom shelf with a price tag of £99.
This monitor is a 20" LCD panel with VGA connection and a DVI-D connection.
The set-up was straight forward, works out of the box. It is highly glossed so it can easily get smudge marks.
It looks really attractive and makes my desk look very important.
The best thing about this monitor is that it is touch sensitive. So if I press the front of the screen (there are no buttons) I can turn it on, or mess with the settings menu.
It fades in and out slowly and looks very expensive.
I think its the perfect size for a PC monitor. As a monitor for the Xbox is does a good job.
The colours are awesome and as it has 2ms (miliseconds) response time its perfect for playing computer games on PC or Xbox 360.
A lot of the monitors on the market have only 5ms response time.
The contrast radio is 50000:1 which isnt bad either on this model.
I can recommend most of these samsung LCD monitors as I have checked most of them now. They are really good value and for a new PC monitor its a breath of fresh air.
So what are you waiting for? Throw away your old CRT if you havent already.
