Advantages: Massive screen, Brilliantly beautiful
Disadvantages: A little expensive to initially buy
Recently, I started University, and, unfortunately for my bank account, I needed to buy a computer, in order to do various assignments and research throughout the year. Whilst living at home, I was able to use the family computer and had never really needed to buy my own, so I had not much knowledge of the best computer systems and what to chose when the time came. I therefore headed for the shops with basically no idea of what to buy, just the will to buy a suitable PC, and a fairly respectable university loan. By no means am I suggesting to spend all of your student loan on a computer, it WILL lead to you going hungry throughout the forthcoming year! Anyway...
I originally looked around a couple of shops, trying to compare specifications, and eventually thought I had pretty much got it sussed, though whilst on transit to the 'man', I happened to notice a rather dashing monitor standing, in all it's glory, on the centre of a shelf. Hmm, I thought. What a brilliantly beautiful monitor! The package I had intended buying came with a rather splendid 19 inch monitor, swamping out 15.4 family desktop. I worked out that I could probably afford to get this monitor, and buy the computer separately, (instead of a computer + 19" screen package), though having to spend more of my loan than what initial intentions allowed.
At £199.99, this was almost as expensive as the computer itself, and was certainly not a price to be messed with. When I eventually decided on this though, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made! Sure, I went hungry for most of the year, but at least I had a computer screen big enough for internet usage and the ability to watch one of the various online viewing programs (iplayer, sky player)!
When I first opened and further analysed the product, I was immediately astounded by its quality and sleek design. The monitor has a polished black edge, bordered by a smooth dark red section at the bottom. This whole edge is bordered by a very lightly tinted plastic which makes the monitor as a whole look absolutely phenomenal. This was in fact the feature that made this screen stand out from the rest of the 22" available which ultimately led me to spend a little bit more money on getting this beautiful screen.
This is a flat screen monitor, keeping up with modern technology in not taking up lots of needless desk space when it is installed, which just makes this screen even better.
Even the stand looks incredible, with rounded edges and highly reflective polished black colouring which would do well to rival a mirror.
This screen does not turn off in the way of norm as the power button, is operated in similar fashion to touch screen technology which, when operated, posts a gradual red light showing its activeness.
I really love using this monitor, it is certainly extremely useful for viewing multiple pages at once, a feature I use all of the time. It is also genuinely a very brilliant looking piece to have on the desk, in the corner of the room. By far the best looking monitor available, and probably the best useable, with the large screen allowing for so much more than smaller ones.
A fantastic monitor which is well worth every penny!
