Advantages: Good picture for PC and HDMI, nice design
Disadvantages: Freeview didnt work properly..
The Samsung T220HD is a monitor for your PC and more.
The monitor itself is 22 inches and in finished in a reflective black plastic with some really nice touches which include a clear plastic frame on the outer edges and on the lower bezel it includes a "Rose Black" which is a fancy word for red tint which really adds some style to your PC monitor. The base continues the theme and also is finished in black reflective plastic though it is a bit large for the size of the monitor. Another nice thing is it has "invisible" speakers, they aren't really invisible just hidden on the underside of the monitor so you don't see them when you are using it normally.
The monitor comes with just about everything you will need including the monitor itself, the base stand, a remote control which includes a set of batteries, a DVI cable and a VGA cable and the power lead. No instructions which is a bit weird but you do get a disk with a PDF file of instructions.
Hooking the monitor up is simple stuff, the base will slot into the centre of the monitor and you will hear a firm click when the parts are assembled. Then you can plug in the devices you want, like PC and notably this monitor includes two HDMI ports which allow you to use devices such as a Blu Ray player or games console on it. The PC mode looks brilliant with vivid detailed picture, really nice to use when browsing the net or playing a game.
I use mine on occasion for when I can't get the main telly for my Xbox 360 and it looks superb supporting up to 1080p (highest quality available at the moment) picture. The only downside is you do get black bars even though it is a widescreen monitor. Sound quality is not the best but what can you expect from the tiny "invisible" speakers that it has.
The monitor does have a built in Freeview tuner but I found it to be pretty pants and the worst thing about the monitor, we don't get the strongest signal but it is perfectly good yet it wouldn't pick up any channels in watchable quality, it was all jerky or nothing at all. I was using an indoor antenna which could explain it.
It is a good monitor, the picture quality is brilliant for PC and for the HDMI ports that it has.
Summary: A good monitor
