Samsung SyncMaster T240HD
I was looking for a Full HD screen which I could connect to my computer and I ultimately went for the T240HD! This monitor meets all my requirements and at a price of 160 pounds. What I love about this monitor is that you can't only use it as a television but it's also perfect as a computer screen and a screen for your console. I use this screen for viewing 1080p Blu-Ray movies from my Playstation 3 and really like it. The quality is amazing for me. You can simply switch between the TV or the computer by pressing the Source button.
The appearance of a screen it is also quite important as it's not the smallest object in the room and you do normally have to look at it for quiet a few hours. The design of the display is remarkable because the screen is black with a red glow at the top and bottom and at both you have a bit of see through glass which makes it really stand out.
The screen is pretty sensitive finger print but since you can't turn the screen off and only put it in Standby mode, you do not touch the screen and may simply use the remote control. The base of the monitor is also pretty finger print sensitive so if you want to keep it all nice so have to clean it quiet often but it's easily done.
The remote is a standard black Samsung remote. The remote fits nicely in the hand and is quite sturdy because I've dropped it several times but haven't experienced any problems. The letters and numbers on the remote looks very clear and I think everything is on the remote that you need. The remote needs two AAA batteries and I would say they would last for half a year depending on how much you use them.
The picture of the screen is really impressive and although I don't have any HD channels, the colours are really bright and clear. I do play Blu-ray movies on the screen I was simply impressed by what I saw. The most important thing for me is that the screen is easy to set up and without any hassle. The first time you turn the screen you can change some settings but everything already is on default settings and I didn't feel like I needed to change anything.
This screen is ideal for use as a computer monitor, the large 24-inch screen, you can enjoy on multitasking on one side of the screen to get on with browsing and Youtube on the other hand working with Word. The screen has a fine resolution, namely: 1920x1200 which is great when watching 1080p Blu-ray movies. As Full HD 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 this screen, you get a black bar top and bottom and is no problem.
There is only one button on the front of a screen that is the standby button. On the right of the screen you have 6 buttons, namely: Source, Menu, Volume +. Volume -, Channel + and Channel -.
There are a lot of connections on this screen:
* Component Video
* D-Sub (VGA)
* 2x HDMI (1 on the back and right of the screen).
* Mini-jack input (on side of the screen, where I set my speaker to have closed).
The sound from the speakers below the screen is not something that is great, it sounds like something echo-like and not particularly clean so I did connect my own speakers and I can really only the sound no.
TV and Computer in an ideal switch between watching TV and Computing by a button on the remote. There are a lot of connections. Great screen where you enjoy multitasking if you use it as a computer monitor and watching TV.

I bought one of these from Richer Sounds around a year ago for the same cost it is available now-I'm sure if you shop around you could pick one up for around £150.
I actually bought this as a TV, not a computer monitor, although it can be used for both. As a TV it has 1080p picture quality and has built in Freeview, which seems to be the norm these days.
I primarily bought this to play PS3 on and have been nothing but impressed with it. The picture quality for such a small screen is brilliant, as is the sound quality. The monitor is very easy to set up and use-in the past I have found the Freeview on Samsung TV's can be a but fussy & difficult to use-not with this one.
The TV is also extremely light which is handy. I canny comment on it's ability as s monitor as that is not what I use it as, but as a TV it is excellent.
