The viewsonic VX1945 ViewDock is really quite an extrodinary LCD screen to be used with a computer. Not only does it provide a high quality picture and sound, but it also includes an ipod dock that allows for very easy and simple connection to your computer, and it all comes in a very attractive black and silver casing.

I am currently using one with my mac mini, this works very well and snycs surprising quickly. But I am not quite sure if it will work as well or as fast with a normal PC. It connects via the standard monitor port on the PC and also uses a usb port, this works well unless you only have a few usb ports.

There are two things that the Viewsonic does to utilise the ipod dock. The first is a direct connection between the screen and the ipod, it can either play music, video or picture slideshows directly to the screen. It can also be simply used as a general ipod dock, so you do not need to use an ipod cable to connect it to your computer, which is all very neat and tidy.

Picture and sound quality are brilliant for an LCD computer TV here. The picture is sharp and the colours contrast very well. And the sound quality is superb, you will not need speakers for your PC if you have one of these, they can also reach loud volumes, which is great. The brilliant colours and the sharp screen means that this is a great screen for media viewing and game playing.

All in all this monitor is a perfect addition to whatever computer you may own. Its ipod dock gives it an extra media boost that allows for cool direct playing, while the screen sharpness allows it to surpass many other gaming screens. Since its release the price has dropped significantly, and at £180 I think this is an absolute bargain, especially as it is a 19 inch HD screen, 5 stars.
