Anything Goes:
... had rather low expectations of this; I do love many of the musicals from the Hollywood Golden Era...but had seen recently a most appalling one in Jersey, Channel Islands called 'Hollywood Heaven'. Lion King ... have always loved watching The Lion King film, but it wasn?t until the end of February/the beginning of March that I really became a massive fan, and I mean, massive. I had read reviews about the show on Dooyoo, and ever since I realised how much people like it, I had constantly been nagging my parents if I could go and see it. Finally, after months, they let me see it, and I couldn't wait. By the way, I'm going to go into a lot of detail on what the show is about, and it may spoil your viewing pleasure. Norwich Theatre Royal ... It has been a while, dear old friends and hopefully new ones, since I have felt compelled to write an opinion. In fact I thought I had sheathed my pen, oh ok my keyboard, for the last time; but a visit to the Norwich Theatre Royal a few weeks ago has changed all that and I find that I simply must write about it. Not out of any desire to vent my spleen on the state of regional theatre but to share my sheer delight at a performance that may well be near you very soon. Open Air Theatre in general ... you have read many of my previous ops, you will already know that my daughter and I are somewhat a couple of theatre addicts. We go together at every opportunity. It doesn’t really matter what is showing, we love to go anyway. It just happens that we both enjoy Shakespeare plays. Last year, we were fortunate enough to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Midsummer Night at Midnight, at the Globe theatre in London (see my op on same). Now that really was a magical night.
