Shakespeare' s Globe Theatre in general: ... s what you have to do: Get yourself onto the London Underground network and take the Central Line to St Paul s. When you arrive there are signposts to direct you down to the Thames and across to the Globe Theatre. When you get to the river, just stop for a moment by the Millenium Footbridge and enjoy the view. Straight ahead of you is the towering phoenix of Tate Modern. If you ve got a couple of hours to k...

Footloose - The Musical Footloose - The Musical
Theatre / Musical National / Footloose is only one of a batch of dance-movies-turned-musicals from the late-'90s, but it's probably the best. Unlike Fame, it gives an audience the movie songs it expects to hear, and unlike Saturday Night Fever, it complements those songs with newly written, honest-to-goodness book son...

merimeri Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story
... booked my ticket, at a bargain price. So I was already happy to see buddy. It is based at the duchess theatre, near charing cross. The story goes from when buddy first started out to his untimely death in a plane crash with the big bopper who s hits included chantilly lace. and richie valens who is well know for his hit la Bamba. The actors in the performance were excellent, they made the whole story come to life and the vocals were brilliant. It got the whole of the theatre bopping, bringing a vibrant atmosphere in the theatre. It was amazing how the actor who played buddy sang the songs all the way through the performance so brilliantly. Some of the songs that are incl...

DancingCopper Woman in Black
... have seen The Woman in Black four times. As an avid theatre goer, I invite you to a unique and engaging performance. As a Drama teacher, I invite you to experience a superb example of what Antonin Artaud called Theatre of Cruelty . Susan Hill, the writer of the novel on which Stephen Mallatrat based the play, had a simple idea. She trawled through a mountain of gothic tales and ghost stories, looking for the basic formula that would grip a reader, scare and thrill them. In my opinion, the novel is good. What Mallatrat does with the stage play is inspired. Rather than adapting the novel directly, he creates a piece of meta-theatre that not only overcomes the limi...

Smallvillenews Wicked The Musical
... went to see this musical twice, once on the very first preview showing on 7th September 2006 at the Apollo Victoria in London and again with my daughter for Idiana Menzels final performance in the UK as Elphaba. Mu husband also went twice... once with me and once with our son! It is in my opinion an absolute must see for any Wizard of Oz fan. It is somewhat different from the original story, as Elphaba (the witch of the west) is in fact a misunderstood lovely person... to tell more would spoil it for anyone who hasn t seen it, but it is a magical and enthralling take on the story. I saw Idina Menzel in the role of Elphaba and Helen Dallimore as Glinda and they were bo...
