Belfast Waterfront Hall in generalNewest Review: ... and also gallery space in it. It also has a restaurant and two bars. The bars can be quite expensive so i would advise you to have a drink at home first if you are coming here for a concert or show. If you dont mind paying for drink at the bar, you get to stand and look out at the water at the big long windows which is quite a nice touch to the building and very relaxing. The Belfast Waterfront Hall has been open since 1997 and hosts concerts and events all throughout the year. It is a conference, arts and an entertainment centre. It has gorgeous furnishings and you can see this as soon as you enter the main auditorium. The Waterfront has a studio, fourteen meeting rooms and also gallery space in it. The waterfront hall is fantastic building close to the river lagan. It overlooks the water and it is all lit up at night. There is also few up market restraunts close by. The waterfront hall is facing the Belfast courts of justice. The waterfront hall is close to the city which is good for transport via buses or trains or a local taxi. The hall was bult with in the last ten years and holds concerts and exhibitions it is owned by the Belfast City Council. It does look really well inside and is very well known for its comedy nights. I went to see Jimmy Carr there and he was brillant. The only thing I could complain about is that they could have put big screens ... Read the complete review

Very impressive place, the only thing is that it is getting completley surrounded by buildings when it should be sitting on its own. At the moment they are building right in front therefore ruining the view from the front. So wrong! I'm sure the council who own the building could have prevented this happening. A real landmark and beautifully situated overlooking the river. Well thought out plaza area surrounding though this is being encroached on. Impressive interior, public areas are bright and airy and clean. As intended, a great place to see a concert, last time I went was to an opera and it was a great night. One small disadvantage is that it is ... Read the complete review

THE WATERFRONT HALL is one of the architectural icons along Lagan River in Belfast, just besides Hilton Hotel and few meters away from the central train station and St Georges Market (3rd best food market in the UK). It is an entertainment and cultural venue for the past ten years, and it has been visited by prominent people from around the world, including Prince Charles who inaugurated the building in January 1997. My first visit to the Hall was early last year when one of my colleagues invited me to join him as a guest companion in a one-day conference in Civil Engineering. It was an interesting event since the topic focused on conservation and renewal ... Read the complete review

Belfast Waterfront Hall can be found at 2 Layon Place, Belfast, BT1 3WH. The contact telephone number is 028 90 334400. It is owns and run by Belfast City Council so ratepayers basically have funded its building and upkeep. Not only is it a concert hall it also acts as a conference and exhibition centre too. It has been open for around 6 years or so now – purpose built with modern facilities to suit the needs of both business and entertainment. Prior to this in Belfast there was a huge void. I have lived in the city for 8 years now and it was not until April this year (2001) that l visited the Waterfront Hall. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ... Read the complete review
