The Big Kid Circus certainly made me feel like a Big Kid!

After reading the very informative review written about this circus I felt compelled to add my own.

Personally I found this circus very refreshing and much easier to budget for in comparison to the bigger circuses. Especially when you can get more money off by visiting their web site and printing off the online voucher! This voucher is different to the ones you find in the shops and includes the most up to date offers.

The welcome you recieve is warmer and less intimidating (especially when you consider language barriers). All staff have a ready smile that is genuine and enchanting.

Fortunatly, I have seen all the shows that this circus has put on; we have even made trips to South Wales specially to see this particular circus.

It is true that they are not like any other circus around and initially the show was like a cross between pantomime and circus. Which, to be truthfull I actually prefer. However, their new show this year does not have the pantomime structure.

The 2009 show features, due to popular demand, the come back of a clown called Hassan (who originally performed as a duo in this circus). This time round he is solo and just as cheeky as ever. The children really warm to him and he gets the children into the ring to generously to give his limelight to them. The children are all overwhelmed by their inclusion in the show. Not to give anything away but there are squeals of laughter from both young and old alike when Hassan starts on the adults! No one is over pressured and he really looks after the people he invites into the ring.

There is an Escapologist who really gets you guessing especially when his suspension rope is set alight!

A plate spinning crazy chef! Who looks as daft as he acts.

The male/female act showing amazing stregnth and balance whilst also portraying elegance and perfect timing has you staring in awe.

There is a beautifully displayed rope act performed by a young lady who shows great professionalism. I say this only because one time I went to this show there was a high wind, which effected her act greatly particularly the audio, she continued her act perfectly and managed to inject the extra wow facter because of these unforseen circumstances and the added danger that was apparent.

The Wheel of Death is still in the programme due to it's popularity. Although there have been some changes within the act. This act is not to be missed. The same can be said of the Hula Hoop act which again is totally different.

Spiderman was not to appear this year but prooved to be so popular with the kids that he has reappeared with avengence. Again this time with a newer version of the original act.

I have to say that my favorite part of the show was not the most daring or technical bits, but, the slapstick humour of the double act dressed in blue and white. The man acting drunk/stupid and the woman kicking off because she can't get him to do what she wants him to do. Even now it brings a big smile to my face. They had us roaring with laughter.

Of course the dancers cannot be left out as their routines get better each year. Making the transitions between acts more fluent and where appropriate dramatic.

When we all go to the show there are loads of us with ages ranging from 2 years up to 63 years of age and we all have a ball.

All that's left for me to say really is that I deffinatly prefer to support the smaller circus to the bigger ones as they are not so money orientated and really do care about the audiences they perform in front of. I personally hated circuses as a little girl, due to being involved in an accident at one, the one and only time I went. It was the Big Kid Circus that removed my fear and made it possible for me to enjoy this magical experience and I sincerely thank them for that as now I am able to take my own little boy.

Rumour has it that they are working on a new act that is stunning and very dangerous involving a motorbike. I don't know how true this is but I for one will continue to go and hopefully soon I will find out.

Summary: Great fun all round for all the family.
