Newest Review: ... a small shabby wooden table that held a glass and a bottle of water. Nothing fancy it was all about Mr Connolly. When Billy Connolly sauntered on the stage wearing his trade mark tailed t shirt and stripy trousers I was slightly taken aback at how old he looked and I did wonder if he would be as good as I had expected. I needn't have worried though, from the moment he started talking to the end of the show 2 1/2 hours later he was fantastic, age certainly hadn't reduced his spark at all. I recently went to see Billy Connolly at the Regent Theatre in Ipswich Suffolk. I have grown up listening to him and watching him as my parents are massive fans. Billy Connolly as most people know is the hairy, windswept yet interesting, Scottish comedian. He's done lots of presenting and acting but comedy is what he does best. Now at 69 the Big Yin, as he is sometimes known, has lost none of his sparkle and is as funny as ever. As I mentioned we went to see Billy Connolly at Ipswich, the theatre was totally sold out and there were all ages in the audience from teenagers to retired people. I achieved a lifelong dream last night... I saw Billy Connolly live! I've loved Billy Connolly since I was wee; there were always Billy Connolly videos in the house. In particular I remember watching "An Audience with Billy Connolly" for the first time and actually crying with laughter! Yesterday was the final night of a two week stint at the Armadillo in Glasgow.
