... few weeks ago I made a flying trip to Birmingham as my friend won some tickets to see the new Milkshake! Live show which has been specially developed for toddlers and young children, the show features some of my granddaughter s favourite characters so I decided to take her along and have a long overdue catch up with my friend at the same time. Glee Club, The ... Glee Club is, as the name suggests, a comedy club, with a venue in Birmingham which I have attended on a number on occasions. However, I tend to go music and burlesque events here, as the Glee Club does not only show comedy but music too. Here s my verdict on some important areas: Choice of nights - Excellent! You can see comedy of all kinds, and music from all genres, but my favourite nights to go on are the Burlesque Nights, with Candy Box Burlesque. Here you have a cheeky mix of burlesque dancing (think Dita Von Teese), the resident dance troupe Candied Heels, a guest comedy act and a live band - the Palookaville Burlesque Orcestra. Absolutely brilliant! They actu... Read the full review: Very good choice of acts, usually very well priced, a good night out! by SapphireSunflowr |

Robin Hood: The Pantomime Adventure ... week when I was at my nans house she decided to get tickets for four of us to go and see the Robin Hood pantomime at the Birmingham Hippodrome. After seeing last years Aladdin I was very excited to go! I d seen clips of it on adverts and on the news but it wasn t anything like it was on the adverts! When we arrived at the Hippodrome it was absolutely packed, isn t it always! It looks big on the outside but on the inside it is massive. There was posters of this years and next years pantomimes, all of them look very good! We were in about thew middle of the audience and we had a very good seat, except for the fact that we was sitting next to three very chatty women! Ot... Blood Brothers (Birmingham) ... this occasion of blood brothers, the lead role of Mrs Johnstone, the down-trodden single mother of plenty was taken by Denise Nolan. This time, they ve kept it in the family, with younger sister Linda donning the apron and worn-out overcoat. She makes a decent job of it but I found her to be too clean and polished, with barely a hair out of place. The role demands the sympathy of the audience - I would like to see a grubbier, earthier and pitiful Mrs J. Linda Nolan. She sang her part well, but that after all, is her forte!!!! Sean Jones makes a splendid return to the Hippodrome as the rougher half of the Blood Brothers having enjoyed success as Mickey two years ago. T...
