Phantom of the Opera ... Phantom of the Opera has been running in the West End since 1986, making it the second longest-running musical there. The plot is simple; the characters are engaging and the music is superb. The play opens with a dingy and cold set, where a range of characters have gathered for the auctioning of theatrical paraphernalia at the Opera Populaire in Paris. Of particular interest is a musical toy, bid for ferociously by two people. The theatre s broken chandelier is then put up for auction, being described as having played a mysterious part in the theatre s past. And then you get a little moment of modern theatrical magic, which I m not going to spoil. But be prepare... Read the full review: Let your heart take you where you long to be by DancingCopper |

Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story ... - The Buddy Holly Story is a musical about the life of the pop musician, Buddy Holly. The biographical detail is fairly minimal, being instead a showcase of Holly s music. In a nutshell, the story begins in 1955 with a 19 year old Buddy starting out on a successful career as a Country and Western musician. He has his own ideas about the path his career should take, favouring the racier Rock and Roll that is beginning to emerge. Feeling unsupported by his record label, Holly signs a contract with another. From this point, exciting and original hits like Peggy Sue are written and recorded. Buddy Holly and the Crickets become a phenomenon with a unique and appe... Read the full review: Rave on! It's a crazy feeling! by DancingCopper |

Lion King ... Lion King has established itself as one of the biggest west end shows in London. It is currently showing at the Lyceum Theatre. Seeing the Lion King was one of the first west end shows I have seen in many years and it did not disappoint!! It is a great transfer from the disney classic film to the stage incorperating all of the music and action. The costumes are amazing and very detailed. The sets are beautifully designed and the whole production fantastic. As well as all of the familiar songs we all know and love, yes I did sing along, there are a couple of new ones which have been written especially for the stage and fit in seemlessly. The show is still aime... Read the full review: A great family show for all fans of the lion king by custard1975 |
