Royal & Derngate (Northampton): ... went to the Royal and Derngate at the Weekend to atch Russell Howard, its the first time i ve been sine the face lift and it was very impressive. Parking is accessible and convenient for the theatre, there is a big multi storey about a 2 minute walk from the main entrance, it cost 80p to park there for a show ( as long as you don t arrive to early ) and there were not huge queues to get out at the end of the ni...

DancingCopper Lion King
... a show from the screen to the stage is risky. If you want to produce a major show in the West End, you won t see much change from £10 million. There is no guarantee of success, critical or popular, as the Lord of the Rings demonstrated. Turning The Lion King into a live show might, to the cynical, have seemed like the worst kind of band-wagon jumping. The combination of simple but engaging story-lines, likeable characters and perfect soundtrack have made the 1994 film one of the best-loved Disney animations. It won two Oscars and three Golden Globes and has taken over £100 million worldwide. Those are some big shoes to fill. The longevity of the show...

AmyAmy Wicked The Musical
... had been my dream to visit London since the tiny age of just seven. This week I was lucky enough to travel down to London (first time on a plane too, I must add!) for a three-day trip. Not only was this alone a great experience, but we were also timetabled to see a show on the second night. At first, we were given the choice of either The Lion King, or Wicked. Personally, I would have preferred to see the Lion King, but as everybody else opted for the other, Wicked it was! If I am honest though, I was most looking forward to it. I hadn t a clue what Wicked was about, until I searched online. Even then though, did I just understand that it was connected to the story of...

DancingCopper Shakespeare' s Globe Theatre in general
... s what you have to do: Get yourself onto the London Underground network and take the Central Line to St Paul s. When you arrive there are signposts to direct you down to the Thames and across to the Globe Theatre. When you get to the river, just stop for a moment by the Millenium Footbridge and enjoy the view. Straight ahead of you is the towering phoenix of Tate Modern. If you ve got a couple of hours to kill before your play starts, go in - it s free. Doesn t matter if you like or dislike modern art, the place is awesome, and there s a great cafe at the top where you can look out over the cityscape. To the left of the Tate is The Globe. If you can t quite m...
