Advantages: Great play, great music!

Disadvantages: booking could take a while!

I wrote this review on the very same day I saw it at the Lyceum. I was lucky in the respect that I was in the second row from the front, so maybe I had the upper hand, but from where I was sitting, the production was breathtaking. You've seen the video so you know what to expect, and yes the play is very similar to the film, but more music has been added, particullarly tribal African music. From the joly performance of Elton John's "The Circle of Life" at the beggining of the play to the death of Mufasa, to the amusing performance of "Hakuna Matata", well worth seeing, good performances all round!
