Advantages: amazing performances, costumes and atmosphere

Disadvantages: it had to end

I went to the Liverpool Empire on Saturday to watch Cinderella on Ice. It was absolutely fantastic.

From start to finish the performance consisted of amazing stunts
incorporated into the story of Cinderella. The cast were from all over Europe, most being championship winners from their relevant countries.

It was unbelieveable how they could fill a small area with ice and the show not be comparised in any way. The outfits worn by the performers were outstanding. We were sat very near to the front and it was cold, especially at the start of the show and then after the interval - it was freezing.

This performance of Cinderella on Ice is only being performed at the Liverpool Empire and in London. If you got the chance I would definately recommend it to anybody - however, I don't know how much the tickets were as they were a present.

I think the show was believeable in the context of the story, their were no words, just music and facial expression, words were not needed. The performers skated so gracefully and really didmake the show believeable - words were not needed.

I watch Dancing on Ice when the wife has it on and even she said she has seen nothing like Cinderella by any other professional skater before. Their was something similiar to the head-banger. There were ladies being thrown from one skater to another whilst they were on the move and then the most spectacular of all was when a lady was on her back on-top of a mans head, spinning around with the man also spinning around so fast on the spot. What made this more amazing was that he did not have hold of the lady at all, she was just spinning around on his head on her own.

An added bonus to this performance was definately the setting of it being in the Liverpool Empire. Although this theatre is old, it is full of character, with it's old ceiling covings and paintings and rickity old chairs to sit on. It must cost a fortune to keep it in the standard it is and all credit goes to everybody who works there - it really did make a difference to the atmosphere. I don't think if you went to see anything like this is a new arena you would get the same feeling.

Everydoy in this show gave 110% and you could see at the end that this was much enjoyed by all the audience. Almost everybody was up at the end clapping.

I would definately go and watch something like this again in the future, and if you haven't already been to something similiar its definately one to consider for the future.

Summary: would go again and again - brilliant
