Advantages: Can get cheap discounts, some big names
Disadvantages: Bar is expensive, theatre is small
Manchesters library theatre is situated in the basement of the library, in the centre of Manchester.
It hosts small plays, for short amounts of time. The last play I saw was 'Waiting for Godot', starring Roy from Coronation Street.
The theatre itself is small and intimate, with reasonably comfy seats. The only drawback of that was we were sat near some mad lunatic woman who didn't shut up, so it spoilt it a bit because we couldn't move away!
The theatre has a young persons club, and you can pick up a young persons card when you show them some identification. This gets you discounts on bookings, and you can see the first night for £1, which is very cheap considering tickets can be £12 - £15 each.
The theatre has a bar, which is good for using in the interval, but drinks are very pricey, so it's probably better to sneak your own alcohol in!
The people that go to this theatre are all old and middle class, so it can be a bit intimidating.
Summary: You cant complain at a quid a ticket!
