“ SHAFTESBURY THEATRE „
Peggy Sue got married is a great movie and the stage show is good as well when I saw it a few years ago now. For me it's quite similar in many ways to Back to the Future with stepping back in time to try and change things there to affect the future of yourself and others. The reason these stories are always interesting and intriguing is that I'm sure we have all been in positions in our lives where we think what might have been if things had been done differently and also wonder what we would change if we could go back in time and alter things. What would you change if you could?
The story itself is about Peggy Sue who is about to attend her 25th high school reunion. She is taking her daughter with and not her husband. This is because she in the process of getting a divorce from him as their marriage didn't work. The married too young in her eyes and then realised they had missed too much of life and started blaming each other.
Later in the evening her husband, Charlie actually turns up and sends Peggy Sue into an emotional state from which she collapses. When she finally awakes she finds she has travelled back in time to 1960 and she is at school all over again for the first time. She has been given a second chance to amend things and make things better in the future in her life. She has decisions to make and it doesn't mean she will opt for Charlie again and may choose a different route.
I think the storyline is very interesting and enthralling from the start and if you like this type of story like Back to the Future then you will enjoy it as I did.
Peggy Sue Got Married is a wildly fantastic movie. I don't know why I absolutely love this movie so much, but I just do. This has been one of my favorite movies since I was a young girl. It is such a fantastical story that is different than any movie of its time.
The story starts out at Peggy Sue's 25th highschool reunion. Kathleen Turner does such a great job playing a middle aged woman who is trying to forget all of the martial problems that her and her high school sweetheart turned husband Charlie played by Nicolas Cage by renewing old friendships.
The reunion also makes Peggy think about the supposed mistakes she made in her life and thinks about the things she would have done differently if she could go back in time. Well, in this movie she gets her chance, Peggy Sue faints at the reunion and when she wakes up she is a teenager again in 1960. After getting over the initial shock of going back in time Peggy decides, with the knowledge she has now, that she is going to do things a lot differently.
This movie is very imaginative, fun, and very entertaining. I just loved it and I think that you will too.
